How to Import Your Strong App Data Into Ironside

Move your entire workout history over in about five minutes — CSV out of Strong, CSV into Ironside.

To move your workout history from Strong to Ironside, export a CSV from Strong (Settings → Export Data), then open Ironside → You → Settings → My Data → Import CSV and select the file. Every workout, exercise, set, rep, and weight carries over, and your PR, volume, and 1RM charts recompute automatically on your device.

Step 1 — Export your CSV from Strong

  1. Open the Strong app on your phone.
  2. Go to Settings.
  3. Tap Export Data.
  4. Save the CSV file somewhere you can find it — the Files app, iCloud Drive, or share it to yourself.

Strong exports your complete workout log as a single CSV file. You don't need Strong Pro to export your data.

Step 2 — Import into Ironside

  1. Open Ironside and go to the You tab.
  2. Tap Settings → My Data.
  3. Tap Import CSV and choose the file you exported from Strong.

You can also import during onboarding when you first install Ironside, or from the Home empty state.

Heads up: importing replaces your existing local workout history in Ironside. If you've already logged workouts in Ironside that you want to keep, export them first (You → Settings → My Data → Export CSV) before importing.

What carries over

Everything Strong records about your training comes with you:

  • Workouts — every session with its date.
  • Exercises — matched to Ironside's exercise library.
  • Sets, reps, and weights — your complete set-by-set log.

Once the import finishes, Ironside recomputes your estimated 1RM, volume, and PR trend charts from the imported history — your progress graphs pick up right where Strong left off, and plateau and momentum insights start working immediately.

Will my PRs transfer?

Yes. PRs aren't stored as separate records in the CSV — they're derived from your set data. Because every set, rep, and weight is imported, Ironside recalculates your personal records, estimated 1RM history, and all-time bests automatically. Your PR timeline will match what you built up in Strong.

Is my data uploaded anywhere?

No. Ironside is local-first: the CSV is processed entirely on your device, and your workout history is stored on your device. There's no account, no cloud sync to Ironside servers, and no upload step anywhere in the import flow.

Coming from another tracker?

The same flow works for other apps — Ironside imports CSV exports from Hevy,FitNotes, JEFIT, and generic CSVs with date, exercise, and rep columns. See how Ironside compares as a Hevy alternative or a Strong alternative, or browse theHelp & FAQ for more on importing and exporting.
