Fitbod generates workouts for a monthly fee. Ironside tracks the training you choose — for a one-time price.
Fitbod's strength is AI-generated workouts, but it's subscription-only (around US$12.99/month) and the auto-programming isn't for everyone — plenty of lifters already know what they want to train. Ironside is a Fitbod alternative for people who program their own sessions and want deep tracking without a monthly bill: unlimited templates, full analytics, one-time unlock, local-first.

If you want the app to decide your next workout — picking exercises, weights, and progression based on recovery and available equipment — Fitbod does that well and it's the main reason to pay for it. Beginners who don't yet know how to program can get real value from it.
Ironside is for lifters who already run their own program (or a coach's) and want first-class logging and analytics without paying every month — with your data on your device, iOS widgets, and Apple Health sync.
Free to download. One-time unlock, no subscription, full analytics.
